Popular Day Tours

Perfect for short explorations

Heard from those who’ve been

Private journeys, written in their words.

Twelve days and not a wasted transfer. Sigiriya at first light, the train window we were promised, a driver who knew when to stop. It felt designed, which is rarer than it should be.

Sri Lanka tours — common questions

What is the difference between a Sri Lanka day tour and a round tour?
A day tour is a privately guided full day from one base — Sigiriya, Kandy, Ella, Yala, Galle, or Mirissa. A round tour is a multi-day island itinerary with a driver-guide, sequenced across highlands, heritage, wildlife, and coast.
Are New Travel tours private?
Yes. Vehicles and guiding are private. Hotels and park jeeps are quoted to your dates and party size. Nothing is charged until you accept a written plan.
Can you tailor a Sri Lanka itinerary?
Yes. Use Tailor made or Contact with dates and interests. We design around traveller profile — cultural explorers, slow nature, or compact high-impact trips — rather than a one-size package.
When is the best time for whale watching in Mirissa?
The usual window is November to April, from Mirissa on the south coast. We time boats to season and sea state, not a fixed brochure hour.
Do you include Yala and Sigiriya on round tours?
Most cultural and wildlife round tours include Sigiriya and a Yala or Udawalawe safari unless you ask to swap. Day tours cover each site on its own.
Can you arrange a private driver-guide from Colombo Airport?
Yes. Round tours and tailor-made itineraries start with an airport welcome. Day tours can also be quoted from Negombo, Colombo, Kandy, Ella, Galle, or the south coast.
Do you run Sri Lanka honeymoon or family itineraries?
Yes. The romance and express round tours are short, high-impact circuits. Family trips are quoted with rooming, pace, and activity mix — not a fixed brochure package.
